Teller Wildlife RefugeThe Teller Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 1,200 acres located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, near the town of Corvallis. The area includes rich farmland, upland habitats and a riparian system along five miles of the Bitterroot River and is characterized by a combination of streams, spring creeks, irrigation ditches, emergent and open water wetlands and agricultural fields. This unique refuge is managed by a private, non-profit conservation organization. There are some interesting and historic homesteads within the Teller property, and opportunities to even stay on the property. The refuge offers some limited opportunities for hunting whitetail deer, waterfowl and pheasants. Self-guided tours and conservational projects are available for educational purposes. |
