Lewis and Clark Recreation AreaLewis and Clark Recreation Area, one of South Dakota’s most popular vacation spots, is four miles west of Yankton. This park is filled with opportunities for outdoor recreation and nature observation. Visitors can explore the untamed wild on park property by bicycling or hiking along the trails. Horseback riding is another popular method for getting along at Lewis and Clark Recreation Area; a rustic horse camp with eight equestrian camping sites is available. Boating and fishing are accommodated for by Lewis and Clark Marina with a floating fuel dock as well as boat and slip rentals. There is a fish cleaning station provided for your convenience. For overnight stay, 82 sites for tent or RV camping are provided. The Lewis and Clark Resort offers more luxurious hospitality with its 24 large motel units, 17 modern cabins, and a swimming pool.
