Lewis and Clark State Park

Lewis and Clark State Park is located near Epping, ND on one of the upper bays of Lake Sakakawea (a.k.a. Sakajawea). The Corps of Discovery expedition camped near these grounds on April 17, 1805 and an interpretive trail marker within the park honors their passage through North Dakota. Lewis and Clark State Park boasts 490 acres in its incredible badlands landscape featuring craggy buttes in a lofty panoramic view. Boating access is provided to the Missouri River via low water ramp. The pallid sturgeon and the paddlefish are rare species sometimes spotted in Lake Sakakawea’s western waters. Visitors can take pleasure in exploring the park along the hiking trails during the warmer season, or get a winter workout with cross country skiing. The campground hosts 80 sites with features such as electric hook ups, wireless internet, showers, cabins, and a playground. With the many surrounding historic sites like Buffalo Trails Museum, Lewis and Clark State Park has it all with nature, education, and fun!
