Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State ParkGreycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park is just off the exit for Greycliff on Interstate 90 in Montana. On Friday, September 7, 1804, Lewis and Clark discovered a village of prairie dogs covering around 4 acres of turf spotted with holes leading into their underground habitat. The Greycliff Prairie Dog Town still hosts these curious and entertaining animals. Interpretive signs provide information about their importance to the prairie ecosystem. A family favorite, come and stop in for a picnic in the company of these amusing creatures. Watch as they scurry and play- their black tails fleeting in and out of their underground tunnel system. Picnicking, bicycling, and photography are some favorite activities here on the 98 acres of prairie dedicated to this splendid little animal. Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park provides an unusual chance to mingle with the civilization of another species- so pack some sandwiches and get the family together for an exciting day! |
