Parker Homestead State Park

Go back in time to the days of the pioneers, whose simple homes on the frontier were very much like this small, sod-roofed log cabin nestled among a few large cottonwoods. Parker Homestead State Park, Montana’s smallest park, sits on just an acre of land near Three Forks, and preserves the cabin built in the early 1900s. The home of Net and Rosa Parker was repaired in 1997 by the government and local citizens in an effort to prevent further structural decline. Elsewhere in Three Forks, see the stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and helictites at the Lewis and Clark Caverns, one of the largest limestone caverns in the Northwest. Take a guided cave tour through the dark underground chambers for a better understanding of these unique geological formations. Three Forks is near Bozeman, where recreational activities include skiing, fishing, camping, hiking and horseback riding along scenic trails.
