Winchester Lake State Park

Winchester Lake State Park sits at the foot of the Craig Mountains in Winchester, Idaho. The Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forests surround its 104 acre lake. Summertime at Winchester Lake State Park affords great opportunities for canoeing, fishing, picnicking and hiking. A ramp is provided for boating access to the lake. Rainbow trout fishing is the most popular activity here. Other species of interest include perch, tiger muskie, bass and blue gill. Bird watching and wildlife observation is also an attractive pastime, especially seekers of the magnificent osprey and bald eagles. For an enlightening experience, The Wolf Education and Recreation Center is just one mile from the entrance to Winchester Lake State Park. Cross country skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing give the park recreational activities all year long. A modern campground with 69 camp sites and 4 yurts provides options for overnight stay.
