Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint

For a really spectacular treat, make sure to stop at the Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint (also known as the Bradley State Wayside). One of the first park lands donated to the Oregon Highway Commission in 1922, Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint offers a rest area, monument, and many remarkable sights from its perch. The park is located 22 miles east of Astoria, OR, near the summit of Clatsop Crest. The view spans an amazing landscape featuring Puget Island, Ryan Island, Cape Horn, Cathlamet, Wauna, and the Clatskanie River delta. The Clatskanie River mouth was one of the spots that Lewis and Clark decided to camp on their arduous journey in March of 1806. When the weather is clear, Mount Rainier appears a fantastical giant on the skyline.
