Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area

Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is a massive park covering more than 120,000 acres in a diversity of landscapes from mountains to wetlands. Bighorn Lake lays out 71 miles of amazing waters from northern Wyoming to southern Montana (55 miles are within Bighorn Canyon). Fort Smith, MT and Lovell, WY both feature visitor centers and other facilities. Afterbay Lake just down from Yellowtail Dam, boasts great trout fishing and wildlife viewing. Some of the best trout fishing in the world is found at Bighorn River below the Afterbay Dam. The OK-A-Beh Marina provides rental boats during the summer. Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area offers tons of trails for biking and hiking including the 10,000 year old Bad Pass Trail. With a choice of five different campgrounds, some featuring RV camp sites, the world is your oyster when looking for an extended stay.
