Lewis and Clark National ForestThe Lewis and Clark National Forest is situated in central and north central Montana. There is a wide variety of landscapes within the area, including broad prairies, mountain peaks, rugged ridges, grassy parks, forestland, and mountain meadows, as well as extremely varied elevations at different locations. The area spans 1.8 million acres within the upper Missouri River system. There are plenty of recreational activities within the forest, including many scenic drives, 29 recreation sites, hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and lots more. There is also a Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center for visitors to explore. |
